This month has gone way too quickly for us in Toddler two room as we have had way too much fun getting to know our new peers. They have settled into the room nicely now and it has been great getting our parents feedback on a variety of subjects that have come our way. We have used stories and songs as our main focus, which is encouraging the children to self-regulate and communicate their emotions, explore music and dancing movement patterns as well as learn some new words.

The children have been enjoying outdoors and are spending lots of time using their imaginations and creative expressions, as they all loved exploring the natural outdoor environment demonstrating their sensory skills, gross motor development and developing independence and forming meaningful relationships with Ziggy and Daisy. The children have been helping to keep the vegetables growing with lots of water. We have been able to seek the rewards by being able to harvest our celery, beans and tomatoes. They were so excited and very proud of themselves as they picked our eatable produce.

The children have loved helping to create our Belonging corner, this has been a fun filled project as they posed for their photos. This has been a great experience that has helped the children to recognise themselves and feel a sense of belonging and comforts in their environment. In addition the children feel secure and supported. We extended on this area of learning and continue developing our Belonging corner by creating a “Where we came from” wall, as our room is made up of many cultures and family traditions. The photos were proudly displayed in our “Belonging corner”. The children loved looking to all the family photos bringing happiness and satisfaction.

A special thank you to all our families that have brought their family photos we really appreciate it.
