So we use a very stringent selection process before employing our staff. Yes, formal qualifications are important and all our staff exceed the minimum requirements as outlined in the National Quality Standards (NQS). Some childcare centres select staff based on the minimum requirement (Diploma and Certificate III), whereas we select based on candidates possessing above the minimum requirements.
That said, we look for the right person that complements the team, not the most qualified. We firmly believe great people, with great qualifications are the key to quality staff. We currently employ 30 Childcare Educators.
We employ two fully qualified Early Childhood Teachers for our Huxley (pre-kindy, 3-4 year olds) and Kindy (4-5-year-old) rooms. Naturally we follow both the Early Years Learning Framework and the WA Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines. The great advantage of this is that our teachers are specialists focused on these age groups, unlike what happens in other centres where teachers multi-task across age groups. We believe this gives your child the best chance to succeed.
Our teachers also liaise regularly with our 3 nearest schools Atwell Primary School, Harmony Primary School and Piara Waters Primary School to ensure our Programs are closely aligned. Yes, we are committed be being as proactive as possible to fully prepare your child for a smooth transition to Year 1
Special Education Teachers also visit and liaise with our Childcare Educators to ensure all children’s needs are catered for in a supportive environment.
We always seek ways to continuously improve the quality of education and care provided. As well as the standard health and safety procedure training and criminal background checks for all personnel, our staff program requires them to undertake regular in house training so you can be confident, when you drop your child off, they receive the best love and care money can buy.
One of our guiding philosophies is that happy staff make for happy kids. To this end our Childcare Educators have a dedicated staff room, only accessed via staff key card. Here they have their own lockers, fridge, dishwasher, toilet facilities. Also the Programming Room gives them a quiet space for research and lesson preparation during their non-contact time.
Yes, we strive for excellence at all times, and seek the very best in quality assurance and care centre standards.
