Children’s mental health is a serious issue in Australia. Currently, 1 in 7 Australian children aged 4 to 17 are diagnosed with some form of mental health condition. There are a number of factors which have contributed to the rising incidents of mental health diagnosis in children. These include increased access to devices and social media, less time spent outdoors, decline in social networks for parents and children, and increased academic pressures.
One of the most common worries for families starting care is, “will my child settle?” Entering childcare is a big step for every family. It is very normal for children to become upset or anxious when they are saying farewell to someone important to them. This reaction is known as separation anxiety. We have re – enrolements on the go, plans for our Children’s Christmas Party happening, and further planning ahead for Leap Start in the new year. We would like to thank our families for loving Leap Start as much as we do!
