Our Programs

Age Appropriate Rooms

Yes, we create a nurturing and creative world that inspires your child’s passion for learning, and prepares them for their developmental and educational milestones.

Here are some areas where Leap Start Early Learning Child Care and Kindy is a leader…

  • Unique, one of a kind “Little Symphonies” Music-Based Program – Research has proven that music improves brain development and memory, enhances a child’s vocabulary, develops listening and comprehension skills, improves movement, coordination and sensory engagement and finally allows for self expression making children great learners and lovers of life.
  • Creative Arts Program (colouring, painting and craft activities) – Recent research by Southwestern Methodist University reveals that art is a form of emotional expression for children and indicates developing emotional intelligence (EI) is more important than IQ for success, health and happiness in life.
  • Performing Arts Program (singing, percussion, maracas and dance) – Griffith University of Queensland reported that in Australia and many other countries around the world, art education is considered a significant aspect of early childhood education.
  • Learning a Second Language (Bilingual) – A landmark study by Peal and Lambert3 that showed a general superiority of bilinguals (second language) over monolinguals (one language) in a wide range of intelligence tests and aspects of school achievement.
It also showed that learning a second language is a positive force that enhances children’s cognitive and linguistic development.
  • Yoga – is practised in all rooms every day based on age-appropriate exercises (for example in “Paradise” room 15 months to 2 years) we help children with individual stretching exercises whereas in the older rooms such as Kindy (4 to 5 years) they do poses such as stretching like a cat).
  • Meditation – is an important part of daily routines as well, from relaxation music for sleep times in the younger rooms to more directed relaxation techniques at rest time in the older rooms.
  • Real World – we believe keeping children in cotton wool does not prepare them fully for the real world so we make every effort to ensure each day aligns to this vision within age appropriate levels.

Each and every year, we introduce to our unique “Little Symphonies” music-based program, new music, new songs and new work books. All written and created especially for Leap Start Early Learning Child Care.

In addition to Leap Start’s “LITTLE SYMPHONIES” program, all our programs follow and align with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and WA’s Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Rare award vindicates local parents’ faith in Leap Start Early Learning Child Care

In what is considered “extremely rare” for a new child care centre, Leap Start Early Learning Child Care in Jandakot was awarded a quality rating of “EXCEEDING” by the Department of Local Government and Communities in it’s first year of operations.

It comes after a stringent examination by the national assessment team, and according to Leap Start Early Learning Child Care Area Manager Nadene Myers, is a tribute to the hard work of Educators and faith local parents have placed in the centre.

“We’ve built a vibrant and nurturing community where children are seen and cared for by our exceptional Educators,” she said.

“I’ve been involved in early childhood education for more than two decades, and I can tell you, for a centre to achieve “Exceeding” at the start like this is almost unheard of.”

And it explains why parents in Jandakot and surrounding suburbs have voted with their feet.

With all that said, here are our age-appropriate rooms where we run these programs:
